Known for her intuitive ability to translate a client’s vision into a layered, tactile experience, Tracy approaches every project as a collaboration between form, function, and feeling – and her featured project is no exception.
The Project: Asian-Inspired Botanical Fusion in Sedona
This owner’s suite bathroom in Sedona, Arizona, spans three interconnected spaces, an opportunity to create a cohesive visual story across multiple rooms. The client requested a finish that would complement the marble shower and countertops. The goal was clear: simple, yet undeniably engaging.
Tracy began with thoughtful research, drawing inspiration from the homeowner’s love of travel and meditation. The resulting design blends Eastern botanical elements with a grounded, Southwest sensibility.
To bring the vision to life, Tracy used a harmonious mix of Novacolor products:
- CalceCruda added layered, textural movement, especially surrounding the exposed copper leaf, offering rich contrast and earthy elegance.
- Marmorino KS, tinted a shade lighter than the Calce Cruda, created smooth, soft areas where the eye could rest, balancing the room’s visual energy.
- Fase Silossanica, applied and gently wiped back, highlighted the dimensionality of the textures, lending a subtle glow to the surface.
In a particularly artistic flourish, Tracy employed what she affectionately calls her “magical texture wands”—custom tools made by a metal artist—to enhance the wall surfaces with sculptural gesture. Additional botanical motifs were brought to life through the use of texture rollers and stencils, lending the space a sense of calm vitality.
The result is an expressive atmosphere – a bathroom that feels wholly unique.
