At Novacolor Near Me, we take pride in highlighting the exceptional work of talented artisans who bring innovative surface designs to life. This time, we’re thrilled to spotlight Tracy Browner of Venezia Design & Finish, a seasoned expert in Venetian plaster and decorative finishes. With over 20 years of experience, Tracy is known for her ability to interpret her clients’ unique visions, using rich textures, metallic leafing, and custom fine art painting to craft unforgettable spaces. A recent project—a striking powder room transformation in Sedona—demonstrates her mastery of material and technique.

A Vision for Drama and Texture

When Portland, Oregon interior designer Leslie Archer of LA Design sought the perfect artisan to execute her bold concept, she turned to Tracy. The powder room needed to complement the home’s dynamic, contemporary Southwest aesthetic while standing out as a statement space of its own. The rest of the home, built by Greg Steves Builders LLC, featured moody design choices: dark reclaimed wood ceilings, black ceramic tile floors, iridescent backsplashes, and richly hued zellige tile in the shower. The powder room had to echo this level of artistry, and Tracy was up for the challenge.

Novacolor’s Archi Big Concrete: The Perfect Match

To bring the vision to life, Tracy turned to Novacolor’s Archi+ Big, a high-performance mineral plaster in big grains for interiors and exteriors. It delivers unparalleled depth and dimension. She applied it across the walls and ceiling, using a chunky, textural technique to create a dynamic surface that played with light and shadow. The base was tinted a soft, light grey, serving as the perfect foundation for an added layer of artistry. Using Novacolor’s R-Stone and a custom-tinted Dune Silver, she applied a specialty glaze that introduced subtle, shimmering highlights throughout the space. The result was a bold, immersive design that exceeded both the designer’s and homeowner’s expectations.

Novacolor’s Archi Big Concrete was the ideal choice for this project, allowing us to achieve the dramatic, high-impact texture we envisioned,” Tracy shared. “Leslie’s vision was fully realized, and her client was absolutely thrilled with the result.”

A Stunning Finishing Touch: The Teal Feature Wall

As the project neared completion, Leslie began selecting sculptural elements to enhance the space. To tie everything together, she invited Tracy back to create a teal feature wall, adding another layer of depth and artistry to the room. Tracy used Novacolor’s Luce in two shades of blue, incorporating drips that harmonized with the central ceramic Kachina figure’s glaze. The feature wall not only spoke to the teal zellige tile in the shower but also added a magical sparkle that elevated the entire space to a new level of uniqueness.
